Can anyone decipher these stamps?

What confuses me is when were these stamps applied? At assembly or when they pulled them off the rack? 20220227_155911.jpg

Mr. Olsen, could you identify the rifle involved? Initials of a French rifle are likely different than the same initials on a U. S. or Russian made rifle.
My guess would be a Krag, but I agree it was worth mentioning in the OP.

It's clearly a Krag carbine. You see the Krag jointed cleaning rod in the stock recess. The stamp on the heel of the stock (SA 98) shows the place and date of manufacture of the stock. The inspection stamp on the wrist shows the date of assembly of the carbine. Everything appears to be consistent.

Hmmph. Looking at the Krag I have, I'd have to agree. I must say, I've never had the stock off. The script looks much like the sort on a couple French rifles.
I will certainly agree to the Krag identification and note that the opening post identifies it as a Krag Carbine. The external mark is self descriptive. I think the script initials in the wrist cartouche are likely the inspector's initials and the year is shown.

The internal stamps are likely code for the workers who did the assembly or the notations by the inspectors of those sub assemblies. None of my references have explicit details, but there's a lot of books I don't yet have.
