Can anyone help me ID this rifle?

    Single shot, soild wooden stock, metal butt-plate.

    On the back of the stock (near butt pate) rifle has:

    Next, it has Manufacture D'Armes St. Etienne Mlr 1866

    I would like to find some authentic accessories to go with this rifle, if anyone can give me any info on this rifle, it would be GREATLY appreciated! :) Thank you.

    French, obviously...

    Hmm. No magazine floorplate...

    Does it have a tubular magazine under the barrel, like a lever action, but loaded through the open bolt?

    Otherwise looking at the "hammer" or "safety" right at the end of the reciever tang, I think it's a single shot Chassepot.

    Here's a pic of a Artillery carbine that was sold at Butterfields..

    Comparing to yours, it looks like you have the full-length infantry rifle.
