A friend of mine went to the range and got to shoot another friend's pistol. She can't recall what it was. Can you identify it from this pic? She said she thinks it was a 9mm.

I would have to say Bersa, Hi Point doesn't make two tones and I doubt someone would pay the money to get one.

looks a bit too chunky to be a bersa...at least a blowback bersa

    hmm
and it doesnt really look like it has a hammer either...maybe some sort of cobra/jimenez/raven etc.?

edit: now that i look at it, the general shape looks just like a Jennings 22, but with a blackened slide and a red dot-thing on the back of the slide

    i should know...i have a jennings 22

    those sights are a giveaway

Looks like a Bryco/Jennings/Jimenez J38/JA-380. Decent guns but the slide will bite you.

Absolutely is. That big orange/red plug thing ( chamber indicator ? ) is a dead giveaway.

Not the same model, but here's one on gunbroker that shows the thing.

I'd tell your friend to stay away from those with a 10 foot pole :p

Thanks! I expected it to be some low-end piece, but it sure didn't look familiar to me. I haven't ever shot a Bryco/Jennings gun.
