Can I use Tokarev mags in a CZ-52? They look about the same:

They look about the same. I can get Tokarev mags cheap from IMA, think I could get away with just cutting a slit in the mag for the mag release on the CZ-52?

I know it'd probably be better to ask this on a Makarov or CZ-52 related forum, but I figured it'd be easier to ask here.

Thanks.

No sir, I just tried it. The followers are different enough that the Tok mag wont hold the slide open on the CZ52. The floor plate is different enough that it wont snap in with the heel release. The mag wedges up in there pretty good but it wont even feed a round when the slide is racked.

I have had my CZ52s for a while now, just got a Tokarev last week. I like the Tokarev, but side by side the CZ sure is smooth and super high quality. Its strange a gun so ugly could actually be so high quality.

It pays to spend a little more and get one that works. Not a time to be showing false economy. Do you really want to trust your life to a cheap mag??
