Note the slight mushrooming on the flat end...it's a manually operated firing pin for a 155 Howitzer

It isn't a firing pin for an artillery piece. The 109, for example, uses a firing mechanism that goes on the breech block that fires a primer that looks allot like a 45-70 brass. Not as big but close. They have a ball in the primer that busts the end powder bag.

It's a cheater bar for a tarp tie down on a flat bed.
