Haven't seen one of those in a while! The company was quite proud of the Thunder 5, the first wheelgun to use .410 shotshells deliberately, and use an M16 style safety. Funky little gun I can see no use form, other than a survival battery gun as a flare gun that can occaisionally be required to do other things....do they make .410 flares?:p

I've fired the one in the collection at work a couple of times, and my general impression is :barf: A HORRIBLE trigger-pull, unless you like doing push-ups with your finger-tips.

found the web page,,, I would not spend the $$$ but would still like to shoot it just for grins.. have to agree with SDC & armoredman about its uses... hate to be on the receiving end... even if you missed the bad guy,, you would sure blind him for awhile... LOL

Thunder Five .410 shotgun/.45 Colt revolver.

Among the other uses I heard as a possibility for it, an anticarjacking gun, loaded two shotgun 3 pistol rounds.

It's claim to fame is the gun was used in "Three Kings" even though in 1991 the gun didn't exist (set in Gulf War #1).

I've always wondered...

How do they get away with it not being an EVIL "short barreled shotgun"?

Seems like the ATF would be all over that...

Because it's not a shotgun. You can buy shot cartridges in any caliber, it's the launching platform the ATF cares about.

hi,
one US company marketed this big fat ugly thing as NON-LETHAL weapon for fin-stabilized rubber bullets.

That is a more logical use of such bastard, as no need for good trigger and long barrel.

The frame looks like it was molded from pot metal.

I can think of a few specialized uses for this gun that it could do better than most.

1. Snake gun. If you need to blast a snake or small animal at close range, .410 is better than pistol caliber shotshells. Maybe you need to kill a Coon in the attic but you don't want to blast a hole in the roof. You get the idea anyway.

2. Anti-carjacking gun. Like someone said, this would be perfect at close range against a carjacker or mugger.
