My BE is probably 10 years old and has been flawless although I need to replace the springs. The Shark hasn't had an issue, but it's only seen a couple hundred rounds. I don't foresee any issues. I had a new BE that was returned to Magnum Research. Poorly machined and it had some big issues. I wouldn't buy another. These were all steel framed pistols, not polymer.
The hard part about the Caniks is the sights can be a pain to get aftermarket ones for. Why they didn't just copy the CZ sights is a question that many Canik owners is wondering.
Cajun gun works is offering a few parts for the Caniks right now. I'm almost positive he doesn't have anything for the front currently as the front sight also holds the barrel bushing in
so it's going to have to be a custom piece if you do anything to the front. I just got a second front one from Tristar and plan to drill it out for a fiber optic. Pretty sure the target style rear he sells
will fit and I think somebody else is making a rear adjustable for it too.
