Canted scope

Anyone have suggestions for lining up the crosshairs when mounting a scope?

A canted reticle is no more than a cosmetic problem if you will be: zeroing for a set distance and not dialing or using the reticle for additional hold-over, and you will not "level" the gun based on the crosshairs.

To level my scopes, I level the gun on a sturdy bench, and then level the scope by aligning the reticle with a distant known-vertical edge (like a pole).
