That's based on what I've learned in my occupation as a defense attorney. Clients that I've had who were shot by home owners during attempted home invasions are typically shot three to five times before they decide to up and leave since it's not as easy a target as they had hoped for. Having said that, I also defended a gentleman in a defensive shooting a couple of years ago. He planted two shots into his attacker's abdomen at which point the attacker stopped. Unfortunately, he was still convicted of Assault since he was ultimately the instigator of the dispute.

That's interesting. The reason I asked is because I read an article where they quoted a couple of the "name" trainers and it was their experience that people tended to empty the magazine unless there was a really clear indication that the person attacking them was no longer a threat.

Now I realize this isn't real life but one example that they mentioned was in force on force training where the "bad guy" was only getting hit with simulated rounds the tendency was to empty the magazine no matter how many rounds were in it.

Funny how it turns out the struggle really isnt a struggle when you actually do it, isnt it. :)

I see you too have one of those weird SIG's with that strange, abomination on it, and apparently on both sides yet! :p
LOL
Yes, it's the lightest P226 I own.

And it isn't as comfortable as carrying a P239, but I'm doing okay so far. still working with it.

So I have been carrying the P226 now for about a week. Not impossible.
I appreciate the 15+1 and the 18 reload.

I figure: If it isn't that much of a struggle, why not?

I am liking the Tier 1 concealment "Axis Slim" for this purpose.

Mine worked quite well from a concealment standpoint, only barely harder to conceal over a Glock 19 or equivalent because of grip size and shape (mine is also a Legion SAO), even with the 18 round mag.

Unfortunately my back has decided 43 oz loaded is just too much for daily carry, got tired of the constant pain and accepted the need for a lighter gun.

If I could, I'd probably go back to a 226, though probably a DA/SA option.

I'm on the hunt for another standard DA/SA P226

I managed to luck into a great shape 228 a while back and have been debating sending it in somewhere for some trigger work, SRT and popping some Ameriglo CAP sights on it.

Too bad they never offered (afaik) a 4" barreled 226. That would be my ideal, love the 226 grip feel over the fatter 229 or even the still nice and slim 228

Tip: as I posted in another thread, it might be cheaper to get aSig p226 .22lr classic and a 9mm caliber xchange kit than to get a 9mm p226 outright. I saved over $100 going this route and I have a .22 lr conversion to boot. You can only do this with a standard p226 no Legions, Scorpions, etc.

There are some p226 trade-ins available here:
