Went to the local gun shop to get an extra mag for my Remington R1 1911. All they had in stock was a Chip McCormick stainless 1911 magazine. bought it; as they don't know when mags are going to be available again. However, I wondered if the stainless mag would not be good for my R1 since it is not stainless.

Will it cause any wear/tear that I should be concerned about; either on the slide or the slide stop? I didn't know if a stainless mag has to go to a stainless pistol. Right now, the only issue I see is cosmetic. The chip mccormick mags have always worked better than the factory issued mags. Thanks for your insights.

It will make no difference to the gun as far as wear. Buy whichever you like.

No difference. Some people don't like the McCormick mags. I've never had a problem with them.
