I'm loading for a M-64 Win. Currently only tried Hornady 117 gr Hornady RN. Others have other experience, info? Best powder? Other bullets? Cast bullets?

Not much reloading info for those anymore!

I found the Hornady 117 RNSP over 25.0 grains H-4895 in "The Legacy of Lever-Guns" book.
Another is the Speer 75 grain FNSP over 25.0 grains IMR-3031.

There is also another article listing four different bullets, and 14 or so different powders. You can get a copy from:
http://www.riflemagazine.com//catalog/detail.cfm?ProductID=55

This is required reading if you like old Winchesters!

Also, do a search here for 25-35:

That is pretty much the 117 gr load I'm using, got it from the same source you refer to. I will check out the Rifle Magazine article--I think I may have seen it, not sure.

How has the 75 gr Speer load worked out? I've wondered about such, though it seems like an overly small bullet for the cartridge. I know that bullet is basically meant for the .25-20. I'd like to try something around 100 gr, but can't find any bullets. Know of any?

I'd kind of also like to try some cast bullets in the 100 to 115 gr weight range, but can't find a mold--again, any ideas?

I don't have any clue about the specific load, but my uncle shoots his .25-35 with an 87 grain spitzer. With the pointed bullets, he loads one in the chamber and only one in the tube. His 94 is a 26" rifle, and has one of those old Redfield 2X long eye relief scopes on the barrel. Ridiculously accurate.
