Glock G36. Single stack tiny, youll love it.
I know I love mine. Its my current "go to" carry gun carried in an IWB "summer special" style holster.

I like my glock 21. 14 shots of 45acp. size wise it is the same as a colt or clone. the thicker grip does not bother me. works well in my king tuck holster.
I love my Glock 21, too. The large grip does not bother me (admittedly I have slightly larger than average hands) and I can shoot it very accuratly. It can be a bit large to concealed carry, though, espeically under lighter summer clothing.

Was wondering what the breakdown in size/capacity is for the various Springfield models is (confusing names, similar builds). Also same q for Rugers, and do they have an SR45 C ?

In .45 ACP I prefer a Commander sized 1911 myself.

That said, in my other "carry" calibers I prefer the Ruger SRc series (9mm, and .40) so in probably a year (I hope) when they release the SR45c I will give it a SERIOUS look as a solid .45 EDC.

They do not have a SR45c out yet, but I'm guessing we'll see one pretty soon. Barring that the single stack Glock .45 (short frame) is the only Glock that fits my hand, so that'd be an option that I would look at if I didn't have a Kimber Pro Carry that fits the bill for me.

G30SF. Very accurate. Easy to carry, fits in lots of pockets and relatively light.

My constant carry gun is the S&W 4513 TSW. It is a 6 round +1 capacity, aluminum framed compact DA/SA 45.

Light weight, thin - for a 45, bet my life reliable and VERY accurate. A joy to carry.

Discontinued a few years ago after only being available for sale to LE since 2004. Another stupid decision from the current company calling itself S&W.

a damn shame...

can anyone run down the 'small' 1911's by name and size? thx!

1911s are absolutely fantastic carry guns. Full sized "Gov't Models" are very easy to carry, and a good gun belt (and decent holster) will tame any concerns over weight.

A Commander-sized version, and/or an alloy frame might just be even better yet, but I've never found them necessary.

Here's a vid that goes over some of the size variants:

And some makers have even more options or their own take on things. Bobtails, long-slides, etc.

FWIW, I've no need for one with a cheese-grater stuck to the dust cover, nor an Officers', Defender, "Ultra-Carry" or other micro.

A Government model or Commander in a good holster on a good belt is about the most comfortable and comforting carry setup I can imagine.
