Carry gun the same for the Nightstand gun

EDC is a 9mm Dan Wesson Vigil Commander and it's on my night stand every night when I to to bed. Right next to it is 45acp Wiley Clapp Government.

Same CZ75 compact I carry everyday. At night it is out of holster and on nightstand and morning back in holster.
I have several other choices but I really want to have the firearms I carry next to me at night as I am the most familiar with the controls and operation of this one.
Last thing you need at night is to try and adjust to a different firearm than you normally carry while waking up to an intruder.

I think my carry gun is fine for nightstand duty. I’ll also have a 12 gauge pump handy as well for home defense.

I carry a 5" 1911 or a 4" Colt Python revolver from the time I get dressed until it goes on the nightstand when I go to bed. There is also an FN SLP 12 gauge shotgun and an AR-15 available.

No bedside gun needed since my home security is a defense in depth design keeping people out for at least several minutes as the alarm alerts me to any attempted entry.

That gives us time to summon LE, access an AR, shotgun, and handgun.

My nightstand gun was a palmetto state armory dagger but I recently got an SR40 to go with my SR9 and I like it so much I'm going to just leave my SR9 in the nightstand and carry the SR40 instead.

bedside is a steel, 38sp, five-shot, j-frame revolver, either a rossi 3” or taurus 2”, because i like simple and i’m old-fashioned.

carry is a keltec p32 pistol, because for social reasons i must carry absolutely deeply concealed.

Man I love this answer. We all get too caught up in having the Uber hardware and can get lost in it.

That said, my nightstand gun is generally a long gun. The carry gun goes in the safe at night.

The gun in my nightstand safe is a G17. It rarely leaves that safe. If I do take it for a range visit, I put a G19 in there to keep the spot warm, as it is one of the locations I keep firearms staged around the house. All are Glocks…all are in the same condition. All have weapon lights. Just keeps it simple for me.

I generally carry a smaller Glock…a 43X or a 19. Sometimes a LCP Max when I choose to carry a less than duty adequate firearm. I’m not a fan of the .380 but dang is that little gun easy to carry!

My primary home defense gun is a G17 in one of my FAS1 safes bolted to my bed frame. It’s accessible to my wife anytime too, especially if I’m not home.

CCW is G26 and a P3AT is always in my pocket whether at home or away.

when I lay down at night I have a Sig M-17 in the bed on my right side and an AR-15 with it.I live out in the sticks and I've had to deal with 2 and 4 legged threats.Recently someone decided to drive back my road and do donuts with a pickup in the pasture right outside my yard fence.Because my house is heavily insulated and I'm hearing impaired,I didn't wake up or I'd have sandblasted his tailgate with 60 grain Noslers. My carry guns vary.Today I'm wearing my S&W Shorty 40.Yesterday it was a 1911.Tomorrow,I have to do business in town,so it'll be my Sig P365XL.I much prefer to have the M-17 in bed with me.I keep a 21 round mag in it and the AR has a 30 in it and a 40 for backup.Right by the bed is a 20 inch barrelled 12 Ga. Coach gun loaded with low recoil 00 buckshot.I've had to shoot nasty animals that were causing trouble at least a dozen times since I've lived here(1986,so it's been a while)and had to draw or raise a weapon towards a human 3 times.Usually the meanest critter is a raccoon that comes to try and steal a cat food meal, but I've had a few coyotes come to visit.I've found that if I shoot at my backyard range every few days it tends to keep the coyotes away.I've got my wife convinced that I have to shoot almost every day,or the coyotes will come and get her cats. The humans I've had to deal with were drunks that were looking for trouble on a remote dirt road and it didn't take much to get them to leave.A couple of them came and apologized to me after they sobered up.I don't know why they hear about someone who shoots a lot and then go to his house to try to do evil. One of them said his buddy told him to not go there or he'd get shot,so he got drunk to the point of not being able to walk and went there anyway to see if I'd shoot him.
