ok im looking for a good carry gun. i want a 1911 that is exactly like the one on mr and mrs smith. so if you could identify the brand of that and tell me the mods its got on it, and what do i need to do to it to fit that silencer?


also is it illegal to own a glock 18c? if not where can i get one?
 
Silencer - you need a Federal license, I believe. Totally irrelevant for legitimate self defence. Harmful in that it gets in the way of a reasonable draw.

Glock 18 - a Class III firearms license.

As for the rest, a movie is no way to pick out a good carry gun. They get edits and prop people to hand them things. In real life, concealed means concealed while you are actually carrying.
 
If you want a 1911, check around and find one with a reputation for reliability and overall build quality and go with that. The silencer isn't super-practical for daily carry, but is a neat novelty to have.
Same goes for the Glock 18. Novel but a machine pistol isn't at the top of the "practical carry" ladder to say the least IMO. Close and easy to own (non CIII) would be a Glock 17. I second the idea that basing your carry-gun(s) on a movie is not generally a good idea, or practical. But I will say I get the Beretta-bug real bad when watching Die Hard! :D
 
You'll get a lot better thoughts on carrying on this website than in ANY movie or TV show. Did you ever notice how many plain clothes cops on TV carry their weapon over their appendix with a FBI tilt holster? TRY to draw effectively that way. Also try to keep it concealed! Most of them also put their hands on their waist, pushing back the covering garment, and further exposing that they're carrying. LOUSY TECHNIQUE for any plain clothes LEO or civilian CCW! Movies aren't quite as bad, but realize that their choice of weapons/holsters is for photographic effect, not effective CCW.:)
 
I suggest you watch the Dirty Harry series then get a 44 Mag. and 3 speed loaders I mean good enough for Clint should be good enough for you.

Repeat after me their Movies not real.10 times. Now go and look at what really makes sense. Most people find a small auto or a 38/357 snub enough. Least a good place to start.
