Since this thread doesn't seem to be getting much attention these days (and I didn't see the answer to my question in there) -- does anyone who carries one know how safe it is to carry a round chambered with the hammer fully down (as opposed to the "half-cocked" position Browning recommends in the manual)?

Just trying to learn more about it...thanks.

The gun is safe in the position the hammer ends up in after you use the drop-safety to lower it.

Lowering the hammer further with a round in the chamber defeats the internal drop-safety system.

Don't do it.
