Anyone tried making their own? I want 32-20 in .7.7 Jap arisaka and/or 32-20 in .303 british. I Have a .32 S&W in .303 and a couple .32acps for .308 and 30-06. But I WANT one for 32-20. My question is why can't I take some mild steel like Alex Inc uses and turn one to 7.7 Jap dimensions, then rent a 32-20 reamer to run into a .315 bored thru center hole ?

Screw it, getting too old to fool around: I contacted the good old boys up in Alaska at MCA to make me 2 of each 32-20 in 7.7 arisaka, 7.65 Argentine and .303 British. This way I can shoot 32-20 in all those nice old guns I ALLREADY own with a .313"+ bore. .32acp and .32S&W won't throw those nice 115 grain bullets at 1100 fps! ;)

To answer your question for the benefit of any others who may be interested:

No reason at all; it is a fairly easy lathe job. If mild steel doesn't work out you can use drill rod and then harden it. I have done it for some other combinations and it only requires enough "meat" to prevent the adapter from swelling and jamming in the chamber.

I have made them, bought them from ACE in Alaska, and bought them from Alex in Montana.

    I like the Alex adapters.

Thanks Jim & Clark. I have two for 32-20 in .303 British coming from Ace in Alaska, and ordered a couple .32acp in 7.7jap and 7.65Belgian Mauser from Alex. The 32-20 case rim will not clear the extraction groove of the rimless cartridges, BUT I will enjoy the 32-20 in my little 1903 BSA Martini carbine that is a bit light to shoot .303 s in anyway. :) :) :)
