I first thought either .43 Spanish or .43 Egyptian, both big users of the Remington rolling block, but neither matches very well. The closest I can come in military rounds is the 11.4mm Brazilian, originally made for their Comblain rifle. Does the customer have the rifle? If so, its markings might provide a clue.

I asked to see the rifle but its a older gentleman who lives a ways out so i am unsure of when or if he will bring in the rifle but this cast has me puzzled for sure
