At that point, just buy this
https://www.bighornarmory.com/product/ar500-500-auto-max/
Or build a 458 SoCom/450 Bushmaster
450BM probably get away with the stock mag also
458 and ar500 would need some modifications to the mag, or a wsm mag I think.
Y'know, I was just daydreaming about an AR10 in 6.5x55 last night...
cause ya know, screw that new creedmoor kid lol :p
I like that idea actually, I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been more larger frame ars developed. The mags would need some consideration, but an AR sized for 3.1" cartridges, would be really bloody neat! I'd want a whole family of wsms/PRCs, or x284s. Something in the 10-12lb range wouldn't bother me at that point.

ya know I didn't remember till now, but if recoils gets too substantial, there maybe issue with the recoil lug and barrel nut interaction......not positive on that, but I've seen a couple bent lugs recently, one older Savage 06 and an old Rem .243.and the Axis has a fairly small contact area.

The Creedmoor is great, but it lacks the panache of the old Swede. Sounds crazy but I know you (& @troy fairweather) get it. Just something elegant about 6.5x55.

Still wish someone would give a 25-08 wildcat the Creedmoor treatment with a relatively fast twist barrel...

Ackley did, it's called the .250AI, and almost duplicates the CMs capacity (I actually used the same powder charge for 140eldms, and 115vlds).
Get a fast twist McGowen, and your ready to fling some blackjack 131s.
My .250 ai walked off with a friend and his 10mm came home with me....but It was hitting 3100 with 115s from my guns 26" tube

There are also others, but here you go: https://nemoarms.com/rifles/omen-watchman
Yep, the omens a full long action tho, and the one i shot weighted something north of 15lbs scoped.....tell you what tho, you want to dump a pile of hate on a target at range, that thing accurately chunked 208s, about as fast as you could line up and fire.....

besides the Noreen I can't think of any others....want to try one of those too!

Falkor Petra (not to be confused with Valmet Hunter, aka. Petra), Albert Arms ALR-300 and Alex Pro MLR300 are other players in the game. There may be more.

The ALR-338 in .338Lapua is awfully tempting, but the price tag is nothing short of eye-watering at €9k. S.W.O.R.D MK-18 Mjölnir and Noreen Bad News aren't exactly cheap either, but from my perspective Albert Arms is a German company so shipping within EU is cheap and the price already includes the tax.

thanks! more things to go look up

exactly.......
I've had smaller parts turn into guns
Yeah, I had a gas block turn into an ar pistol... I also have a 30-06 savage barrel that may never find it's way back on my action after shooting my 35 whelen.

I also thought about picking up a savage axis to build a custom on, but I want a short action for short action cartridges... It Just seems right to me...
