CC Cover Garment Draw

Good to know, but in fairness that only works in climates where such garments are practical. In Houston f you want to sweep a garment off your gun, an untucked and unbuttoned lightweight, woven cloth shirt and the requisite tucked in tee shirt underneath would be as close to your jacket or vest as could be realized for most of the year. And even that would be one shirt more than could really be worn comfortably. The gun would have to be chosen so as to not print under such a light concealment garment. And wearing one's shirt unbuttoned and showing your undershirt is not everyone's preference for common activities.

In warm climates I think that well-designed pants pocket holsters are possibly the best solution.

Summer carry is a challenge... Here's how I do it.....
  1. LCP concealed in plane site with a Sneaky Pete.
  2. Holstered in the car console
  3. LCP deep IWB at 2pm, strong side with a clip draw... shirt can be un-tucked or not... still can't see it.
  4. LCP ankle carry.
  5. Full size auto OWB in pancake with untucked "camp" style shirt.
  6. Full size auto in a shoulder rig with loose "camp" style shirt.
I carry less frequently in the summer.... which up in these parts is only 3 months long.

I practice both. However, being married with kids (I got a late start, most people my age are having grandkids) makes it likely that I'll have one hand occupied moving loved ones out of the way. So I practice one hand draw more than two hand. It's far more likely to cause fouling of the drawstroke so requires more practice to become accustomed to dealing with that issue quickly and resolutely.
