The CCI 157 was the equivalent of the smaller Remington 57 primer.
Years ago, Remington and Peters used a smaller primer than Winchester and Federal.
This obsolete size was called a 57, or 157, or simply a Remington primer.

The CCI 109 and 209 are basically the same.
The difference was the 109 was nickel plated and the 209 wasn't..

RC is right on with his info. To further his info, you won't be able to use the 157 primer in any of the currently made shotgun hulls. BUT if you were to find some of the old rem SP hulls, you'd have the correct primer to use.
