Seem to remember buying some of these because that’s all there was during the last shortage. Didn’t cycle my pistol but shot ok, eased the withdrawal a bit. Now again I see them available when little else is on the shelves.

Anybody have any opinions on these? They say don’t use in a rifle with a barrel longer than 24 inches, I get that. Anything else I should know about? Anxious to check out my new Skinner peep sight on the Henry 22.

thanks

I've shot some of them in my bolt actions, still have a few boxes. Most 22s shoot differently (different group sizes, different POI) with different ammo, even if the various makes/models are of the same velocity. CCI Quiet will likely be different still in any given gun. So, you can test your sights with it, but that won't necessarily tell you much about how your gun will shoot other SV or HV ammo if that's what you're going to be using when it counts.

I use it in my Mossburg 464 lever action. It is Quiet. Low velocity and won't work in any of my semi-automatics, but fun to plink with. Not very quiet in revolvers. Effective on small pests and I've heard it works on Squirrels.

I like them in my 9422,sounds like an air rifle. They will not cycle in any 22 semi auto I own, with my 1022 I use like a bolt action.

I use it for my Henry lever action. It’s accurate in my rifle but it sometimes doesn’t like different guns. I may have to try those Skinner sights. I’m trying to figure out how to zero the factory sights for Quiets and the Thunderbolts I normally use for it.

I use them in a 4" revolver, a 24" bolt rifle, and several different pump and lever guns. They won't cycle any of my semi-autos. They don't give best accuracy in any of my guns, but they aren't awful either. They are very quiet, and are in fact the only cartridges I will use without ear protection, as long as I am outside. So for casual plinking while out walking in the desert or forest, they often are my choice.

I use them in my Browning A-Bolt .22LR. I have it sighted in at 50 yards and can head shoot a squirrel from the end of my barrel out to 50 yards and they kill coons with one shot to the head also.

They are very quiet, especially with a suppressor. They will not cycle in my semi-autos. They do make a CCI Quiet 22 - Semi-Auto version that is a tad hotter at 835 fps.

The regular CCI Quiet 22s are in-stock directly from CCI at the moment for $5.99/box with a 10 box limit.

Get 10 of those and 10 of the Standard Velocity version ($4.99/box) to get your total over $100 to qualify for free shipping.

Do the semiauto Quiets work? Those would be great for my Victory if they would cycle it.

I have a couple boxes I never plan to shoot, just don't want to adjust the zero on my rifle. If it came down to it, they're fine and I'd use them, but I only got them because the Walmart gun/ammo monkey grabbed them by mistake instead of SV and I didn't catch it til I got home.

Performs as advertised; great for applications where the loud crack of a standard .22 round is to be avoided. They are “quiet” because the propellant charge has been reduced and thus the velocity - these rounds are accurate but will impact lower (at 50 yards, you can see their travel path thru your scope - a rainbow trajectory) - they work very well in my bolt guns as long as the guns are zeroed for this round.

Lots of good information, thank you all.

I tried out a handful and they worked just fine. In fact, the sound hitting the backboard behind the target was actually louder than the shot.

They cycle my Remington 550-1 just fine. they just dribble out the ejection port but thanks to that floating chamber, reliability is 100%. Point of impact is off but that is to be expected.

If I remember correctly, Quiet-22s are 700fps, the semiauto Quiets are 850fps and std. velocity is 1070fps.
The Quiet-22 round nose stay whisper quiet even out of a 22” barrel.
Before I’d try the semiauto Quiets I’d make sure your firearm can cycle std. velocity first.
Seems like most who run the semiauto Quiet reliably have modified a bit to do so. And out of a 10” Charger std. velocity should stay subsonic depending on time, temperature, elevation, and you general mood.

There are two different varieties of CCI quiet ammo. They are both on their website, and I have both of them. One variety is 40 grain roundnose 710 fps. It will not cycle my Ruger Mark 1 or my 10/22. The other is called "Quiet 22LR Semi-Auto" 45 grain 835 fps, roundnose, and it will cycle both the Mark 1 and the 10/22. They are both really quiet, comparatively speaking. I use the slower version in my Single-Ten and my bolt-action rifle.

I've used a little bit of CCI Quiet, not sure which variety. In any event, it will run in my 10/22, but my 22/45 Lite doesn't like it. For obvious reasons, it's fine in my bolt guns. It's also ridiculously, stupid quiet through a suppressor. Compared to standard velocity or high velocity ammo, POI is shifted significantly downwards, about 4" at 50 yards.
