As many of you know, I do love the CZ-75.... and the Glock 19, and the 1911, and the..... many fine handguns out there but the CZ is a classic.

I see a lot of posts about the CZ and I am wondering this...

How many would (or do) carry every day (or would) a CZ-75 for a primary CCW. Another words, it is a proven combat handgun but those who like it, would you (or do you) carry it as a CCW?

I do a lot and it does require some pre-planning as it is a bit bigger and heavier than other 9mms.

Is its reputation and ergonomics worth the extra weight and "hassle." I wuld love your opinions.

By the way, thanks in advance.

I'm sure the CZ is a fine gun but for me, my choice for carry is the Beretta compact type M because it's slender, easy to conceal and reliable. I also love the Glock 26 -- the 19 too. I'd carry any gun I love, even the full size 92FS or Brigadier.

Gunguy, I know what you mean. I love my '75 also, but it's a big gun.

Have you considered the CZ-75 Compact or PCR?

God that gun looks familiar. Ive had ALOT of CCW guns and I keep coming back to this little monster. 15 rounds of 9mm, every tactical doo dad that actually has a purpose for CCW is OEM on it except night sights. Fully loaded its the same weight as an empty CZ 75 Compact in steel frame.
My Custom PCR was the "ultimate carry" but this does me just fine.......
DA first pull absolutely does not slow down draw/fire/split times, at least my hands seem to like it.
Id look into one......hell I named myself after it. :D
Shoot well

I've toted both a full-sized CZ-75BD and a lightweight PCR for a while. They make great carry guns...very ergonomic, and very easy to carry IWB thanks to the slim slides. If the weight of the full-sized CZs bothers you, try out a PCR or P-01. They are slightly reduced versions with lightweight frames. The PCR and P-01 are dead ringers to the SIG P228 in size and weight, and the P228 is arguably one of the finest CCW pieces of all time.

gun, welcome to THR.:)

If you like it, carry it. No magic swords, blah, blah, blah.

Many here, myself included, carry full-sized 1911s. Thus, a CZ is not a "hassle" at all.

Best advice I can give you is to get a good holster AND a good belt (not from the GAP but from a holster maker). After that, get to class, early and often.

Good shooting,

Kirk
