On a few holster draws at the range, i drew my weapon from IWB, and the holster came out and up with the gun!! Glad nobody saw me, as that would have been ambarassing.

Ive been doing new training, drawing the weapon with one hand only in case the other hand is tied up (makes very good sense to me) Formerly i used my left hand to pull up clothing overhang to draw with my right. The clip on the iwb holster is very tight, and im wearing regular pants. Same as always. The possibility of this ever happening makes me want to scrap iwb altogether and go with a new system. Something firmly attached to a belt always. Any suggestions?

Its a leather holster made by blackhawk.
Its high quality, and has just a strong of clip as any.
Perhaps gun to holster fit needs to loosten up a bit.

If the holster is coming out with the gun, then theres something wrong. It shouldnt do that. Are you clipping it to your belt or your pants?

Id look around for another holster with a better attachment system. Its not unusual to go through a bunch of holsters until you find one that works best for you. Its also usually not a cheap endeavor, and only more expensive, if you start out with cheap holsters.

My guess is the OP isn't wearing a belt.

I'm sure there are some holsters that work fine without a belt, but my guess is most are designed to work with a belt. The clip, if that's the attachment method, needs to hook on to something, like the bottom of the belt.

I always wear a belt, but also don't use clip on holsters because I fear this happening.

Yeah, my belt is too wide for the holster to grab the bottom of the belt. My other holster has a little wider clip and thus catches. Ive figured out the problem, thanks guys

Might consider putting an ulti clip on your current holster. It has a clamp on it that makes it lock to your waistband.
I have no personal experience with them but have been meaning to buy a couple to try out. I only carry IWB about once or twice a year, so even though I made an IWB holster for my each of my guns I haven't gotten around to trying it. Doesn't cost much to try though.
