    Chain Saw Attack Stopped

    By Michael Davis
    Journal Staff Writer
It wasn't a dark and stormy night and monsters didn't rise from the depths of Harvey Jones Channel.
Corrales police officers prevented a possible horror-movie ending with the arrest of a man they say swung a chain saw at two people in a trailer park Monday afternoon.
Robert Garcia, 43, was blasted in the chest with a beanbag from a shotgun after the alleged assault and refusing to cooperate with police.
He is facing two aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges and one count of resisting arrest, police said.
"It wasn't quite the 'Corrales Chainsaw Massacre.' Nobody got killed. But apparently Garcia had consumed a lot of beer and was attacking people with a chain saw," Detective Vic Mangiacapra said Tuesday.
Mangiacapra said the only casualty was the door to a trailer on Calle de Blas.
According to the report, Louis Garcia and Josh Salazar walked into the police station and told officers they saw Robert Garcia cutting up a wooden door on a home next to Louis Garcia's.
The two told police that when Robert Garcia saw them, he charged at them with the running chain saw and then lunged and swung at them in an attempt to cut them, the report said.
When police arrived at the scene, the alleged assailant's sister said she had called police because of the attack and that Robert Garcia had cut away at the door of the neighboring trailer home a second time, the report said.
Garcia had locked himself in his room when police arrived.
He obeyed a police officer's request to leave his room and did so without the chain saw. He didn't obey the command to drop to his knees, according to the report.
Instead, he yelled an obscenity and charged the officer, Mangiacapra said.
"He took a beanbag to the chest and went down," he said.
Garcia was treated for minor injuries at the University of New Mexico Hospital and then booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center. He remained there Tuesday night in lieu of posting an $11,000 bond.

    Lets see ...

Chainsaws, beer, and bean-bag shotguns. Sounds like a typical evening in my trailer park ... :D

Hey that beanbag actually worked. Unfortunately I've seen instances where it just pisses off the guy instead.

    Those pesky 43-year-olds ...
Hmmm, my GF's a chainsaw carver (and she's good, too). She really mastered her craft at 43, and she's good emough with her six chainsaws now that her effort is all on the "Art" aspects of making cool sculptures. I guess she avoided "the Dark Side" — it might have to do with not drinking, or with not being a washed-up porn actress. Remember Yogi Berra's advice: "when you get to the fork in the road, take it." :neener:

So don't drink and handle guns; don't drink and attack people with chainsaws. Good thing that German Art-boy wasn't trying to take Ms. Rauch's bra off with a shotgun.

Rule #2: Don't point a chainsaw at anything you don't want to cut.

And when did she become a "former" porn star - when this incident occurred ...?

    And on another note ...

Husqvarna makes an excellent saw, (IMO), but they also make, or made, some decent looking hunting rifles. Anyone know much about them, reference to quality and such ???

Husqvarna now makes a whole line of "gardening and forestry products", but they also turned out some mighty fine guns, dirt bikes and sewing machines in their day.

I have a Husky M-38 milsurp and M-3000 bolt gun in 30-06. The latter looks a bit like a Weatherby with an extremely smooth bolt and distinctive dovetail shaped locking lugs. Beautiful polish and finish work. One of these days it'll go into a nice Boyd stock and the shiny swoopy stock will go into the trash.

Yes, they make very simple and tough chainsaws, easy to work on and run good in cold weather.

But for removing bras, I prefer the fine German precision of a Stihl:D

I just prefer the little snap hook on the back... less noisy and alot more fuel effecient. No oil/gas premixing either...

Let's see. You're holed up in your room, but come out when the cops tell you to. One of them is standing there with a shotgun and tells you to drop to your knees. Do you

    a) do as you're told?
    b) start singing "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"?
    c) yell an obscenity and charge?

Where is Charles Darwin now when we need him the most?
