Changing springs in 92fs

    I have recently been told I should change springs in my 92fs. I have also been told, by a diff't source, that there is a spring kit that improves the trigger on the 92fs. My question is 1st, should I go w/ a stock Beretta spring kit or is Wolf ok? and 2nd, has anyone done this change & how did the trigger end up?

    I am not sure exactly which springs you are talking about. As for the hammer spring, I switched the "20lb factory" spring for a 16lb spring from Wolff. (Beretta 92FS Vertec) -Made a remarkable improvement. MUCH better trigger (DA and SA). NO light strikes so far.

    I have no problems with Wolff springs. They seem fine. Also, if you order the "hammer spring pack" from them I believe that it comes with a 16, 17, 18, and 19lb spring. You can choose the one that seems right for you.

    I am not saying that Wolff is any better than anyone else but I am very satisfied with them.

    Since springs are relatively inexpensive, I was thinking of replacing recoil, firing, trigger & hammer springs (did I forget any?)

    You forgot the sear spring. I was kidding, it's a bugger to replace. The trigger spring is no piece of cake either.

    The only spring which will cause an improvement in performance is the hammer spring (get the 16# "D" spring from Beretta or get one from Wolff). The FP and recoil spring should just be the stock ones... replace when they show wear (maybe 2000 - 3000 rounds for recoil?)

    Thanks...i did have the hammer spring (WOW, surprisingling big difference!) & recoil spring.

    We were taught to keep one factory spring as "stock" for comparison purposes. Used springs are inspected by rolling them on a flat surface. We're checking to ensure that they're straight. The factory spring is then placed alongside the used spring for a side by side comparison. If the older spring is equal length, then continue using it.
