I have three and love them all. It's not a Kimber, it's not a Wilson. It is however, a great 1911 value, and my full size and compact both outshoot my Kimbers. Hope this helps.

I have one that has close to 8k rds through it. It's my IPSC L10 gun. I had an extractor breakage at about 700 rds, I replaced it w/ a Wilson extractor and no more problems encountered since then. Considering I only paid $380 out the door, I'm really happy with mine!
Check out www.1911forum.com, they have a section dedicated just for it.

I have a Daly EMS and for the money, it is a great commander size 1911. I also have a Dan Wesson Patriot Expert that cost twice as much. Is the Daly as well made? No- but for what it cost and how it functions, I would buy another.
As stated above, check out the 1911forum site..

I want to be able to really customize it. Is it a true 1911? Can I call Wilson and order say a trigger or other parts and install it like it was a true 1911?

The EMS that I have is the smaller commander size. If you want the full size, that is the EFS, I believe. As far as I have read, almost all parts are mil-spec and interchangable...BUT I am not the expert on that...again, I suggest that you goto 1911forum and the Charles Daly forum and ask....There are people there that can better answer your question.

Aftermarker Parts

All of mine have been left pretty much as they came , but I have been told that most parts should be interchangeable, but may require some minor fitting. I did replace the extended slide stop on my EFS and the replacement was a little tight, but fits and functions fine.

just bought one two weeks ago. got it from davidsons for 400. First trip to the range I had several failure to fires. Took it to the gunsmith that was Davidsons local FFL and he did a sort of fluff and buff on it. Polished up everything. took it back to the range and it still had the problems.

Went to the 1911 Charles Daly Board and everyone said this was a common fault and I needed a heavier recoil spring because the misfires were due to pistol not going into battery. switched to a 20lb Wolff spring and it works like a champ. Only problem it now takes an arm and a leg to rack the slide. Just now switched to a 18.5 lb spring and I'm off to the range to see if it still rocks. Will report back. If not the 20lb goes back in and I start lifiting weights. Love the gun.

I got one at Christmas and I love it.

It is the 4 inch Bull barreled stainless with combat sights.

I love it. Its accurate, reliable and a tremendous value.

KBI/Charles Daly service is excellent as well, I thought I had lost a part during disassembly and they mailed it to me next day air
even though I had not bought the gun from them.

went to the range and there were a couple of failure to feeds in the first mag. may have been limp wristing don't know. The next hundred rounds went off without a hitch. a mixture of hollow points and hardball. I think the 18.5 spring is fine but I put the 20 lb spring back in because in the 300 rounds I shot with it there was nothing but perfection. With the 20 lb it ate everything.
