Have an opportunity to purchase a Charles Daly High Power from a good friend. It is as new and comes with three magazines. I have a couple of BHP's but don't know much about the Charles Daly. Anyone know how they stack up and what they are worth?

They were either made or assembled by Dan Wesson. I have been looking for one. I hear they are good.

I own one and it is a great gun. It is every bit as reliable and accurate as my uncle's Browning, but not quite as nicely finished. They were assembled from FEG parts by either Dan Wesson or Magnum Research. If there is an 'M' in the serial number, it was put together by Magnum Research, otherwise it was built by Dan Wesson.

The grips are wonderful and the one I have has XS Big Dot sights. I like them but don't recall if all CDs were built with them. The nice thing is that most of them have slide cuts that match 1911 cuts so you can change to almost any kind of sights you can think of.

I purchased mine about three years ago for $325. I think that was a fairly typical price for a lightly used one then.

ETA: I have yet to find a part that doesn't interchange between the CD and the Browning.

I picked one up for my kid to use for IDPA about a year and a half ago, gun is in excellent shape, barely used, came in it's box with the papers, etc, and 4 mags for $350. It is reliable and accurate, though the trigger was heavy and gritty out of the box. I removed the mag disconnect and it made a huge difference, now the gun feels like it has had a trigger job. Mine also has the XS sights.
If I were to run across another one for the same money, I'd buy it.

I've got one as well and it has been a great pistol. Only problem was the hammer bite, and I fixed that by installing a C&S no bite hammer. It is well worth $350. If I ever find another one I will probably buy it as well
