Cheap .308 Surplus At J&G Sales

J&G Sales has cheap, Indian .308 surp ammo. Just thinking that I should share this with my ammo-scrounging THR brothers and sisters. Yes, I know that indian ammo aint the best, but it's cheap and goes bang most of the time. I would buy a bunch, if I already didnt have over 1k of SA surp. 25 cents a round for Indian is NOT cheap, it's the new market price give or take a little. Even if I didn't already have about 5,000 rounds of this stuff from when it was 6 cents a round shipped, I wouldn't race out to buy it at this price.

I'll be a nice guy and let you have it all. I have heard too many horror stories over the years about the Indian stuff. Ther has to be a reason all the old milsurp stuff is pretty much gone with the exception of the Indian milsurp, think about it.

Just curious, has anyone reloaded the Indian brass? DB, I believe it's riflecountry.com that has the link you're speaking of. It's also stickied on a couple of other sites.

One logical thought would be that maybe it was imported AFTER all the other surplus? Another is that lots of guys "hear" stuff and shy away without ever investigating further. But please, you keep right on not buying. Tell your friends too, if it ain't too much trouble. The less other folks buy, the more likely it is that some distributor will get gittery and dump it cheap.....

Dudes, you can get Wolf .308 from sportsmans guide for $0.22 around. 4 cents cheaper per round then this Indidan stuff even when you buy at there quanity price.

Very possible, I have too much invested in my firearms to take a chance. I usually don't put much stock in the "I heard" stories either. J&G has been advertising the Indian ammo for a lot of years. I still have a couple thousand rounds of Agentinian .308 so I'll let you guys investigate. Let us know how you like it.

If Sportsmans Guide were giving ammo away, I wouldn't take it from them. SG is a slimy, dishonest, lying company that will never see a dime from me.

thanks for the link bro! As far as reloading the Curry...its decent enough brass...the stuff I have (OFV and KF headstamps respectively...) processed out good, tumbled VERY clean and shiney. Sizes like normal stuff (but I use Imperial) and actually doesn't stretch as bad as Federal in my FAL...the stuff I have shot in my mauser wasn't too accurate...about 6-8 moa...but was still okay to shoot...hardly no stretch with that brass. I haven't needed to trim the first run, either.

Indian ammo - yup, it's going to go BOOM every time you pull the trigger.

The Indian ammo is generally shunned for poor quality control - however I believe that a few years were considered "OK" - but I don't recall which.

I just stay away.

At the risk of making Greyrider cringe, they certainly can. My buddy and I dumped a ton of wolf into my SA58. No problems.
