supply and demand! free market! I don't know what "free market" actual means! If you don't want it down buy it!
There now everyone can skip that.
CTD is a sleazy company that in addition to price inflating (don't want to hurt anyones feelings with "gouging"), but they also have a history of misrepresenting shipping costs, spreading false propaganda to drive their business, canceling agreed, finalized sales to restock at higher prices, and they still owe me money from a processing refund from 2004.
Maybe you can't gouge on luxury items, maybe Texas feels that ammo is more critical to society than the word luxury implies. If that AG can really make the case that ammo is in demand for legitimate defensive/civic need, that's at least as legitimate as charging those people selling sanitizer on Ebay.
Ultimately, unlike the many other price gougers of the internet, CTD likes to misrepresent the cause of their high prices.... "get it before its banned" "ban bill in congress now, expected to pass" "we're the only place that has this" and so on. They also are the only place I know that bulk buys emails and spams people who never signed up, and never used their website. Spreading fear, lying about the circumstances, and leading people to an overpriced option through deception would be enough to get an electronics company or car dealer, liquor store, insurance company, and many other businesses in court.
Relevant thing here, does that state have a law against any of CTD's practices? If so, I doubt this is a witch hunt, if not, its its unethical, but the only people supporting CTD in the good times, anyway are the one's who don't really support the 2A industry in general, just the "whats cheapest for me, its 0.03% cheaper than Midway/luckygunner/targetsports....., I'm just going to buy from CTD".... Those people don't raise a fuss when companies get screwed. No offense to anyone intended.
