Who makes the cheapest FMJ jacketed 9mm ammo and plated or jacketed HP 9mm in bulk? I would like to make up 1,000 rounds Nato Spec. ball ammo and 1,000 mid range HP ammo. I don't care if they are plated like GoldDots but i would prefer the FMJ be truly jacketed unless they are cheaper than dirt and i will use them for plinking. I will get into casting next year but i want something to load over the winter and $50 per 500 Oregon-Trail Laser_Cast are a little expensive granted they are so hard you can push them pretty fast in a .357.
 
Can you buy the same FMJ that are used in the Winchester 100rnd bulk pack but in 124g instead of 115g? I wouldn't mind paying up to 100 per 1000 for these. Well probably more like 85 because you can get jacketed HP for under 100 per 1000.

Does the Berrys plated HP have as thick of plating and hold up as well as something like a golddot besides the fact they aren't bonded?

Anybody make soft points or semi jacketed HP?

Is there much accuracy difference between Montana Gold , Zeros,and Precision Delta ?


Is there any companies to stay away from?
 
The Berrys 124 Gr HP can be a bit finicky feeding, but is a good bullet.

The Ranier, Berry, and X-Treme plated bullets shoot real well, but they are not as heavily plated as Gold Dots, nor will they perform like them. They are meant for cheap plinking/target shooting.

I have had extremely good luck with Zeros. I have not shot any Montana Gold or Precision Delta bullets yet, but they have a great rep.

I forgot about those 9MM bullets at TJ Conevera. They are a good deal. He is also a good place to buy Berrys. Sometimes he is cheaper than getting them direct from Berrys.

By defination, all and/or any plated bullet is bonded.

The jacket is bonded to the core by the plating process.

Berry's are just as bonded as Speer Gold-Dots.
They just won't perform as well because the jacket isn't as thick, and they are not overly engineered to expand reliably.

The Montana Gold 115gr FMJ at 4,000 bullets for $279 (delivered) is the cheapest I've found for jacketed (not plated) bullets, at 6.975¢ each. Buy 3 cases (12,000 bullets) and the price drops to 6.89¢ each. My preferred 124gr CMJ bullets (no exposed lead in the base) are only $284 for 3,750 (7.57¢ each). These prices include the $5 fee for residential delivery.

I've found the cheapest ones are in the berm at the range! They look like they could be washed, tubled, resized and reloaded !

Oh yeah; I melt them and cast them into LEAD slugs..... Sold some of the spent jackets to a scrap dealer when the price was rediculously high..... Not worth the trip to the scrap dealer now.
 
Yes precision delta still has the 2k minimum for free delivery, trust me. Shipping was only $5 though.
