Cheapo bullets

I emailed them almost a year ago. I also emailed them 2 months ago. Never replied.

I'm not positive, but this might be the company that the owner died, and the misses took it over a few years ago.

I read on another forum recently that the owner did not die, is doing well, and doesn't do e-mail much. The poster lived close and drove there after a few calls till they answered the phone. Call, call, call till you get them on the phone and you will be happy.

Cool. I stand corrected. :)

Unfortunately, I don't do business with those who avoid being contacted- except in person. I'd hate to have an issue with an order with that kind of "vendor".

"...inspected for headspace..." There's no such thing as that. Neither cartridges nor bullets have headspace. Headspace is a rifle manufacturing tolerance only.

I called on the phone and left a message stating I wanted to place an order. Nikki called me back that afternoon. It took two months after that to receive the bullets.

Sass, Here is his number and e-mail address. "636-926-3076 [email protected]
It's been a while as I ordered 2,000 of them. [Let's face it the price is right.] But I believe I called, left my number, and then he called me back. I can tell you I was happy with the projectiles. Eventually I ended up with a load as good as the GP11 in my rifle. It took me quite a while though.

So when using pulled mil-surp bullets like these, what other measuring precautions should one use when loading? What tool if any should I use to check the bullets roundness and dimensions, or is a visual check of each one good enough?

Those prices are the best I've seen for M855 bullets, which shoot real well from my 16" RRA ... I'd like to load up while the gettin is good.

About all I did was grab a random handful, gave them a visual inspection, then checked the weight to be sure it was correct. Didn't find any problem with them. Of course you can't hunt with them, but they do make a pretty nice hole in a piece of paper. These were the first 5 that I shot to check them out. And while it was only at 50 yards I was happy enough, and I did improve the load just a bit afterward. http://www.geocities.com/qajaq59/k31target.html

I emailed them and tried calling, but have never received a reply.

According to the ar15.com site, trying to do business with RVO is a waste of time.

It's a shame as the products and prices look good.

Ouch on that ar15 link!

However, just realized they're loacal to me ... if I can pick these up in person I'll get some. Otherwise looks like Wideners is the way to go.

Prices look good because they're three years old.

That and their service more than makes up for what you might* be saving. :D

*- assuming you get your order and don't mind waiting more than a month or two to get an order you paid for the first day.

TurboFC3S- Let us know what you see. Would be nice to hear of a positive experience on a vendor with such storied history. :D

Justin

I have never done business with them but from reading this thread and the one on AR15.com I would definitely stay away from them unless you actually go to the shop and purchase something and take it with you that day.
