Good lord!

You've got the nicest full rail I've seen, by far. That thing is HOT! You're not the guy who also just acquired an EB, recently? If so, you are having a VERY good month.

Yea, I got the EB recently too. I think I'm done for now. :)

Nice pistol, the tactical cheese grater is pointless but I bet that gun shoots great!

Well, I like the look of the full rail operators. You don't see them much anymore. It also helps on the recoil. This one in 9mm is like firing a laser gun. I was amazed at my group sizes, and I don't have very steady hands.

I'm also not much on the look of full length dusts covers/rails on 1911s, but I wouldn't say they are pointless. If he wants to mount a light for HD or whatnot, then he can. Seems fairly purposeful to me. That is a very nice pistol to be sure. Where did you snag the Nighthawk stocks?

Jason

I am absolutely in love. I htink I've seen this on almost every forum I'm on, and it does not get old!!! I'd love a full rail, and the 9mm imho makes it perfect (yeah I know wrong in every way, but I like 9's)

You can buy them from Nighthawk directly.

They don't show the flat bottomed alumagrips on their site - but you can call via telephone and order them.

Very nice!

Very nice piece ShipWreck! God, I am SOOO glad I decided to go with a 1911 when I bought my first ... I just think they are such a classy looking gun! Not putting anyone else down ... I just LOVE the 1911 look!

Hope you enjoy it! Be Safe & Take Care!

Nice Piece! I love my own Springer Loaded 9mm and I really love the tac rail on yours; when did they come out with that? Do you have a holster for it and if so which one? - skeeter_08

Nice! If you are like me you will shoot the 9mm 1911 a lot more than the .45s for cost and for less recoil. I love the .45s, but for fast shooting at steel plates the 9mm is much better. Bowling pins are another matter.....

It's not a production gun - it's from the Springfield Custom Shop - had about an 11 month wait.

As for a holster - I just bought it for a range toy. I don't plan to carry it in a holster - but there are some holsters out there for the standard production 45 version

I have never been one for rails or full length dust covers but that things looks straight TOUGH.

Gorgeous. If you dont mind be asking, how much?

Ive been absolutely dying to find one of those, and to find out you can special order one.

Also, is that hard chrome or stainless?

Thanks... Special order is the only way to get them now. If you go to the Custom Shop page and download their PDF for available models - its listed there...

The base model is $2600 - with Black T, a bushing barrel, and in 45.

Mine is hard chrome, with rear slide serrations, 25LPI instead of 20 LPI, white ringed Novaks instead of the silver ringed ones Springfield typically uses, a bull barrel and in 9mm. It was around $3k. I almost went with a Nighthawk, but went this way instead. Every Springer I've ever owned seemed "beefier" than the Nighthawks I've actually held.

I almost bought a full rail TRP Operator in 2003, and always regretted passing it up. When I saw this as an option, I knew I had to get it. But, I didn't want the adj sights either (that the TRP version had - and I didn't want that cheese grater checkering - so I went with 25 LPI instead of 20)

Pretty pricey I see.
And yeah, The Adj sights and the nail covered front strap turned me down from the production model.

But none the less a very nice pistol.

Looks like im going to be saving for awhile

Oh and shipwreck, we miss you over at GT :neener:

Shipwreck - I really like this. The full length tactical cheese grater just adds to its good looks. Makes it look much more massive, and as a bonus, it's got a me-friendly safety lever.

Is this a new Operator, or was it a polished up first-run Operator?

Hey! Hey!! What do you mean "...my..." that's a loaner. I expect it back in my vault soon. :D Dang that's nice!

Yes, it's from the custom shop. Waited almost 11 months from when I ordered it. But man - it's like a laser gun. Very accurate. I like that it's in the 9mm caliber :)

SW:

Hey....

That doesn't look like "no" P99/AS to me...:what:

But, it's a "purty" sucker.....:D

Best Wishes,

Jesse

P.S. Glad to see you got this old lefty a safety on both sides... That way when I inherit it I won't have to spend any money on it.
