The "6 shots in 1.39" clip is interesting....

But it shows the shooter having trouble between shots 1 and 2. That shooter could do it faster, once he mastered the trigger.

Also, it appears that the shooter self-started, with the time beginning on the first shot, and the time figured out after the fact. This really means he fired only FIVE shots in 1.39

Evenso, the muzzle flip didn't appear to be all that bad and the shot placement was decent.

Wow I kinda like the look of the 6". I still think the snubby is ugly. But the 6" looks pretty badass.

I like all firearms but this one is not anywhere near something that I would buy. I'd like to shoot it, but can't get over how bad it looks to me. I can compromise between practicality and looks, but the guns I get usually have to be at least somewhat aesthetically pleasing.

Here are some teaser pics Chiappa sent me last week. It's of a special edition 200D (DAO) model with "olive wood" grips. Enjoy.

Need beer goggles-- or some sort of impaired goggles to appreciate it.
I'm afraid that what I'd need would be a sharp stick poked into each eye. Best of luck with your sales, and I mean that honestly. But it's just not for me :)

Love it if it is of high quality manufacture. Change things up. Life is short. Give someone a table full of S&W's, and one of these, and I assure you this one gets picked up first.

There's a PDF on Chiappa's site about how to properly Grip the Rhino.

This makes me wonder, with the firing chamber on the bottom, do you feel any increase in the sidestream-mist of hot vapors?

I'm quite used to a bit of light, inconsequential side-spray on my newer revolvers, and even sometimes a larger fleck when firing my VERY well worn Model 10.

I like ugly guns... You have to find other justifications beyond beauty. the question is how does it function.

"Ugly" is the new black

I can't wait to shoot one. New ideas in the revolver world don't come around very often. I don't know if I'm going to embrace this but I'd like to hold and shoot it at least.

Sure it's ugly, but it's not designed to be pretty. It's designed to be functional, and lowering the barrel to the bottom effectively reduces leverage, resulting in less barrel flip, allowing you to get off shots faster and as always, more lead towards the BG increases your chance of walking away.
Would I get one? No thanks. Too ugly. :D

I just got a Rhino snubbie 2 days ago. $675 at a rural gun store. Neat gun for my collection. Very heavy trigger pull on DA.
To date they have only shipped 200 of these into the USA from Italy. The shop that produces them for Chippa has only 10 employees.

Each time I visit this thread, I find my curiosity goes up a hair, and the fugly reaction goes down a hair.

I suspect the fugly characteristic is really a Not-Invented-Here / Foreigner characteristic, and that it is is enhanced slightly by some poor design work at the barrel / muzzle on this initial one.

Then, if Chiappa can get to the enhancements--maybe address that trigger, etc.--they might have a seller.

i predict a sort run with very few Rhinos exported to the USA. Will e a rare gun.

I think it's a coold concept, but the "Hard DA trigger pull" is a concern with any gun, much less one that looks like this and costs that much.

Not as short as they say

Here is a link to the Rhino owner's manual. Page 8 shows a picture with two hands holding two different revolvers, implying that the Rhino is shorter than a conventional revolver (note that the Rhino hand is set further back than the other hand). However, accodring to Rhino specs, a 2" barreled Rhino revolver has an overall length of 6.5". But a 1-7/8" barreled Smith and Wesson 646 airweight has an overall length of 6-3/8" - the same difference!

I must say, though, I like the low bore axis and the looks of it!
