What a joke! The only danger to the public is himself and his moronic political agenda. As far as the musket thing goes I guess he and his police force would be breaking the law of not using smooth bore muskets themselves. Another reason to not visit the windy city. 2 cities I'd never be caught dead in NYC and gangster town Chicagio, unfortunately Denver is getting that way also.

I don't think he gives a black eye to LEO's in general. He certainly represents corrupt Chicago and NYC politics, however.

How people don't see this I'll never understand. Welcome to the age of the low information voter, I guess.

Yeah, I wouldn't quite compare him to Chris Dorner just yet...however, he's definately getting there with his radical viewpoints. I wonder how many people are dead due to gun control from people like this clown. Any numbers on that?

Trent, I don't live in IL - but I'm pretty sure most cops feel the same way about this issue across the board.

    1. Local cops don't enforce federal laws.

    2. Even if a liberal state passed these laws. You would find a very very small minority who would violate their oath to the Constitution and be a part of disarming American citizens. Hopefully, the courts would strike those laws down before it becomes an issue.

I am sure a decently trained American CITIZEN could show how effective a musket can really be, especially compared to the fat, corrupt Chicago PD leadership.

The rapid fire Puckle gun predates the Gatling by 150 years, and was well known to our framers when they drafted the Bill of Rights.

The Gatling was the first practical machine gun, but inventions like the Puckle gun and the Ferguson rifle blow the "2a meant muskets" argument out of the water.

Mc captain kangaroo Carthy is an idiot. For some strange reason, Chicago machine avoids hiring a professional and insists on only hiring buffoons. On second though, it's not strange it's consistent. Political views and corruption and power are more important than ability to the Chicago machine.

    Trent said;
His attitude is not the prevalent one in Illinois law enforcement. The Illinois Sheriffs Association is the 9th state sheriffs association to come out against the current gun control agenda:

That thing looks like a "pucker" gun. Maybe through the years the translation was lost?

Oh I know, Jeff. He just happens to be the one with the state's second largest private army under his command.

I'm on good terms with my local Sheriff (Bob Huston, Tazewell County) - Bob is about as pro-gun as they get, and we see eye to eye on most every topic. He's testified down in Springfield before (twice, if I recall correctly), as a proponent of Shall Issue concealed carry.

"Come on folks, everyone wants to be safer. Right? Well, all you're going to need to do is give up a few more inalienable rights and we promise you'll be safer."

You know what the safest place in the world is? Locked in a padded room, fed a "safe" diet, and under constant observation, and guarded by armed men. Maybe you can have TV and an assigned job to keep you busy. You can even have a spouse, but some people engage in unsafe sex play, so even the bedroom will have night vision cameras and you will not be allowed to engage in physical contact underneath the covers.

    It's all for your safety.

    Who desires that?

You have to understand that this blather comes from a New Jersey transplant who's in charge of a police department so corrupt that until fairly recently, it had a home invasion, burglary and kidnapping ring operating INSIDE it.

It's about as remarkable in the greater scheme of things as the Taliban complaining about immodest women and democracy.

Well that explains a lot. What better way to ensure the success of your corrupt departmental practices than to disarm the public?

And all this time I thought Chicago was known for pizza...

...blatant stupidity comes to mind, but I don't think I could tag him with that, without moderator intervention.

True, but I thought it was more of a semi-auto weapon? I didn't think it was a fullblown automatic weapon was it?

Neither was the Gattling gun. A manual crank operated multi barreled weapon is not classified as a machine gun.

This from a clown in charge of a police department that used to have torture as one of their tools.

Talk about dangerous to public safety.

Reading all the background on this guy, do you think the City of Chicago searched for the biggest possible buffoon to put in this office? Bring back the elected sheriff system!
