I was looking at a "nice" looking old used broomhandle chinese clone. It was all matched serial numbers, detachable mags (2 of them same serial number) and box etc. It is definately a shooter but it does not look to bad. It is in 9mm.

So, I am just looking for a fun gun at the range. It looks neat and what the heck the price is reasonable at $550.

I had the dealer show me how to take it apart and look at it. Everything is all machined and looks pretty good. No obvious wear marks. It is not refinished and it is still tight enough for him to have some diffuculty upon assembly.

I have heard I need to replace the locking block, and the springs from the dealer and on the internet but beyond that what else is up?

I am not a collector, it would only be shot for the fun of it at the range and as something different. But, I do not want to get a maintenance headache or a gun I cannot get parts for. The dealer had no idea of the age, I would guess from the quality of the machining it is from the 30's but that is a BIG GUESS.

Thanks

Searching the internet, I see that they are reasonably common. Matching serial numbers are not that rare and having both the 10 and 20 rnd mags are not uncommon.

The key question is where to get parts. Wolff makes springs, but the slide locking block appears to be hard to come by. The barrel looked pretty good, so I think I may go for it or at least swing by and look at it again.

Anyone know where to get parts for the Chinese Brooms? There seems to be some opinion on the Inet that it is hard to exchange parts for mauser.
