In Florida we have the Baker Act. Up to 72 hrs. involuntary and most times (about 95% of the time) afterward folks sign voluntary. No reporting of this. (You have to be truly sick and have a psychiatrist, usually your family, and a judge commit you involuntarily.) Think about whether or not a person should lose 2nd A rights for life over this. I worked at a receiving facility for 11 years. There isn't a simple solution for this except for simple minds. Joe
 
Being in Virginia and seeing numerous local reports, I'll summarize...

The best I can tell everyone is that the state (Attorney General and State Police) is saying he wasn't commited so he didn't need to be listed. The feds are saying that he was 'mentally defective' (a phrase that appears in the law along with involuntary commitment) due to the order to seek outpatient counseling and should have been listed.
