What Remington rifle will your stock fit?
Our Sniper and Varmint stocks will fit the Current production Mod 700 long and short action in right and left hand. We also make a shourt action Varmint and Sniper stocks for the detachable magzine rifles. It will fit Sportsman 78 the 721,722 and some 40X actions. It will not fit the long action detachable magazine rifles or the 710, mod 7 or the XP100 actions.

I just looked up the VTR on remingtons site. The action hasn't changed. As long as you get the short action stock it should drop in.

I think the key question being asked is really whether the barrel will fit. As far as I can tell, the actual profile of the VTR's barrel is about the same as that of a normal 700, so it should be compatible with most aftermarket stocks.

ok

Thank you for the replies, i will look more into getting one, i appreciate your alls input..

Well yes that is the case Wes. It is a normal factory barrel with three milled flat surfaces. So you are right about the barrel fit.
