Chrome Lined Bore Question

I have an Ithaca / SKB over under 12ga with chrome lined barrels. It is choked mod and full but patterns full and fuller. I originally picked up to shoot trap, but realized that I like skeet much more. Is it possible to have it cut for tubes without ruining the bore with flaking chrome? If it is possible to do so, I would most likely send it to Carlson's as they are about half the price of Briley.

Any help would be appreciated.
