........has anyone dealt with the company lately? Are they around yet. Read a lot of negative feedback about them. Unfortunately, they seem to be the only company making a kit for the Hi Power.

I was kinda under the impression they went away. I don't know but I been told the guy was basically a genius without any people skills and customer service really sucked.

There were some Argentinean kits on the market a couple of years back, but additional magazines - they came with one - weren't available. I have since seen magazines available, but not the kits.

I heard that Ciener had been jailed for poor/dishonest (?) business practices, but I don't know if its true or, if true, what ultimately happened.

I ordered a kit for my HP recently. I received my order pretty quickly - when I subtracted my shipping time and the time it took for my check to clear, Ciener must have turned my order around within a few days.

I am amazed at the quality of the kit for $200. The magazines especially are truly works of art.

It shoots great...when it shoots. Mine has feeding troubles, but I have only had a single range session to work out the kinks (.22 ammo is a bit...scarce).

I have high hopes for it, and actually won't be very upset if I have to drop another $50-100 for a smith to correct the feed troubles. In a perfect world I would expect the manufacturer to fix such issues, but I understand that I am unlikely to get that level of service from Ciener. Yet, I still feel what I received for $200 + up to $100 in smithing is still well worth the money.

Some pics, since we all love 'em:

Bought a BHP Ciener kit several years ago before he had his legal troubles. Works flawlessly, couldn't be happier with it.

The last time I called Ciener was he last time I will call Ciener. They literally wanted me to send them $5 to ask a question. We're done. If youre that busy you dont need my money, and adantage arms was more than happy to get it.

Pretty much what.....

.........I expected. Stringfellow, maybe you got your order so fast since his business must've dropped off considerably. Notice that Midway and Brownells dropped him like a hot rock.

I'd like to get a SA in 22lr for some cheaper practice( though at this time it's easier to find 9mm! ). I'm tempted to attempt it. I read an article where the second variation of the SA FEG clones was used as a test gun for the Ciener kit and worked well. Here's the article:

My FEG is just like the one pictured in the top right corner. Would love to practice cheaper with what I carry. At least....someday....when 22lr might actually be......available???!!!???

One other thing.....

......even the expensive kit is cheaper than the Star and Astra SA 22s. People are discovering these Spanish wonders.
