Try as I may I am having a problem of getting decent copies of my C&R license to send it to vendors.

The problem I'm having with my scanner copies is that the sections with the license number and the expiration date (you know...the ones with white lettering on black background) is barely (emphasize 'barely') legible on the copies.

Is this a big issue with vendors?

I hate to waste my time and theirs if they want everything crystal clear.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Spend the money and get good photocopies made. I do mine for free (to me, at least) at work, after 5PM.

Its definatly worth the price to get good copies. Think about it postage is 37cents. If even ONE dealer sends your license back as unreadable you out 37 cents to send another one. You can make 10 copies for that 30 cents. I can't believe im even arguing about 37cents either way. A C&R has been the most expensive decision i made in a long time.

You should be able to get a good quality copy off a scanner.

Since you can't, go to the local copy center and do it right.

Don't sign that original.

I used a scanner to make good copies of mine. It also lets me print off new ones while the original is tucked away in the safe.

I use my scanner to make copies all the time.

This is the first time I've had clarity problems and that's only with the white letters on black background.

I've got to run into the city later this week and I'll get some good copies made.

Thanks for the input.
