Clark long Slide .38 Special Safety

I have just made deal for .38 sp Clark Long Slide. I shot it yesterday and it is fine but the safety doesn't work. No problem on a bullseye gun but I was wondering if that came from Clark's shop like that or it is broken.
I'll post photos after I get the gun and clean it up a bit.

Which safety doesn't work - the thumb safety or grip safety? If it's the grip safety it's probably pinned.

Then it's probably broken.

ETA: I have a few Clark guns and all the safeties on them function properly.

I'd find it incredibly tough to believe it came out of Clark's with a non-functioning safety. I think it must've broken afterwards while in the possession of the seller. As a matter of fact, I'd put money on it.
