Class 3 permit...South Carolina

After contacting a gun dealer near me and asked about purchasing a Selectable weapon(full auto), and a suppressor.

I was told I would have ot come in, fill out some forms, do a fingerprint card, and pay 200 bucks forthe permit.

Easy I can do that, but then was told I need my local Sherrif to sign off on it.I live in a county in SC that is 90 percent black, and alot of crime goes on...

I havent called the Sherrif yet, plan to tormorrow, but I also heard something about a trust I can get so I dont need his sig.

anyways does anyone know what I can and cannot buy in South Carolina with a class 3 nfa permit?

I was talking to the guy that runs the local class 3 shop about a suppressor last year, and I'm pretty sure he was saying that in SC, as long as you pass the background check, and pay the tax stamp, the local CLEO has to sign off on it. Evedently the old Spartanburg county sheriff liked to drag his feet, but still had to sign off. Hope this helps.
