Classic?

1. Regardless of age, of a style reminescent of Old World craftsmanship. ie. a CLASSIC walnut stock,
2. A firearm no longer manufactured, yet revered by many. ie. Savage 99, Colt Peacemaker, Winchester M70 pre-64, SXS

Classic MADE to be taken afield, enjoyed and admired.

Love my 10-22. Classic? Nope, just fun.
Love my Winchester 61. Classic? ABSOFREAKINLUTELY!
Trip to the range, nobody pays attention to a 10-22. Uncase the 61 and people notice.

A friend bought a new Mustang Cobra in 2001.
He also has a '68 Boss. The Cobra was a brute around town, on the freeway and in traffic. 10x better handling and comfort than the Boss. But, drive the Boss down any road and people ADMIRED it.

Mannlicher Schoenauer model 1905, Remington model 14, and now a recent addition the CZ model 550, Marlin 336, Winchester model 94. Those are in addition to the Savage 99, the Ithica model 37 deerslayer, Winchester model 12, the original Browning auto 5, Marlin model 39 and 39A. All are admired when uncased in a hunting camp of serious hunters.

Looks classic to me. Were the old Weatherbys built on Mauser actions?
I think the older Weatherbys used sporterized P17 enfield actions. These are one of the few actions long enough to handle large magnums like the 416 rigby and other dangerous game rounds. Eventually Weatherby designed the proprietary Mark V action and the rest is history.

I hope to get some pictures this season, it's a pain since all I've got to take pictures is my tablet and it's a pain to carry that thing adound. I always seem to forget to take some pictures even back when I had a phone. I'm trying to get 3 classic rifle ready for this season, 2 are pretty much sighted in and 2 I need to double check. Not sure what's going out first.

This year's pics
