I have been looking at CMMG .22LR kit for my AR15. Could one of these be harmful to the barrel?

Nope. Lower velocities and pressures means less wear and tear on the barrel.

Especially if you shoot lead bullets!

Just make sure you lube up the end of the conversion that fits into the chamber to keep it from getting stuck. Don't force anything when you install it, and you'll be good to go. I got the stainless steel version with 2 mags for $189 from CDNN. I had one FTF out of exactly 730 rounds, due to my riding the charging handle. And it's accurate to boot out of my 1:9 16" barrel.

I did a write up on it a while ago:

It's fun, accuracy isn't fantastic, the barrel is the wrong caliber ant twist. I'm embezzling from my wife to get a Spike's Tactical dedicated upper.
