Just bought a cmmg banshee in 10mm.
I love it. Whats not to love about a PDW chambered in arguably the most powerful semi automatic handgun cartridge of your "service calibers"? (I know it aint no 45 Win Mag or 44 Auto Mag)

I find your common WWB or Federal Champion or Rem UMC ammo to be watered down to almost .40 s&w power. In some cases it was found to be at .40 s&w power. Whats the point??
There is no point. Its just more expensive .40 ammo. Heck with that.

Now, with your more premium ammo such as underwood, Buffalo Bore or similar, you get back to the true original Norma spec. 10mm performance. Getting the 180 gr. Pill up to 1,300 or faster is what im talking about!!!

My solution to getting 10mm performance i want is to hand load. 180 grain jacketed whatever, under a max published charge (alliant website) of Blue dot or power pistol and off to the f#@kin races!!!

One problem with max loads the cases bulge out in front of the case head to beyond being able to reload them again, due to the unsupported chamber in the AR design (this happens in 9mm in uzi as well). So my loads for this PDW i water down to around 90% of max to get the most out of the caliber, but not to destroy the brass.

Thought id share this info and see what input may be out there on the matter.

Definitely interested in your reliability on your Banshee. What barrel length?

Hate to break it to you as I'm a 10mm fan as well but the 10mm is equal to, if not ever so slightly slower than the 357Mag on equal bullet weights with high octane factory loads. There's a lot of people who think the 10mm equals the 41mag which is a joke. Doesn't stop me from wanting a 10" or so AR pistol, or carrying a G40 for woods carry.

One is on my short list of wants when the latest panic ends. Have one 10mm PCC made by TNW but I REALLY want one of the CMMG's that is sold as a pistol. Makes them legal to carry in the vehicle up here. VERY nice guns they make.

I edited the post to omit the 10mm vs 357 Mag. part!

Reliability so far has been 100% in approx. 100 first rounds.

Will it run 40S&W ammo (headspacing on the extractor)?

my 9mm banshee killed my ejector spring at approx 500 rounds. cmmg sent me a redesigned one that has worked so far, but it's only been another 500 rounds or so. Apparently this was a known problem. Hopefully the new design work better and you have no issues. Other than that, it's a great platform.

I get why people would want it, but I don't personally see the point. I did order a CMMG Bansee in .40 last year but never picked it up, cool idea but I also figured it wouldn't really get shot much.

I too am very interested in a CMMG Banshee and look forward to perhaps purchasing one.
From research I have done on carbines, it seems to be a very high-quality choice for 10mm or .40 S&W.
I enjoy a premium product and examined Wilson Combat yet seems they are only available in 9mm.

I’ve had a 10mm Banshee for about a year. Excellent well-made firearm. It’s been 100% reliable. Highly recommended.

Calculated yourself on what barrel lengths for the .357 and 10mm? Your data doesn’t show that and it’s a critical factor in comparing the two.

Those velocities are pulled straight off of the cartridge manufacturers websites.

I am up in the air about getting a 10mm or a 45 acp Banshee. I know I am betting a 10mm wheel gun soon.

I do have a UMP Clone in 45 acp built with all HK NIB Parts, including a New HK UMP Barrel. So maybe a 10mm would be nice.

I thought about the Banshee and Kris Vector but went the cheaper route with a Hi Point 10MM carbine in a bullpup stock. Downside is 10 round magazines. But for $650 invested it’s a fun shooter. The Banshee looks like a nice rifle as well.

Yesterday I purchased a Bronze CMMG Banshee in 10mm on GB. I should have it by the end of next week if all goes well with the USPS.

Now I need to buy 10mm cases and brush up on reloading 10mm.

Here is the CMMG I purchased for $1,675.00 off of GB. I went after this model instead of one with a Brace because I plan to SBR it. Also these sell a lot less then the CMMG 10mms with the brace. I have 20 30 round magazines coming in for it. I am worried there maybe a ban in the near future on manufacturing of High Cap Mags so I spent more then I wanted to on magazines. I am going to get a Factory G20 standard magazine for it so I can bench rest it when I site in the red dot scope that I am planning to mount on it.
