CNN Video Report: Cops increase firepower to combat criminals

Here we are again with this claim of being "outgunned" and yet I hear no evidence (aside from anecdotal) to support the claim.

I tend to be one of the types who is uncomfortable with the increasing "occupational military" look of our police forces following 9/11.

...and we all know that AWB did nothing to keep AKs off the streets.

Reporter: "Why is this weapon so powerful?"

Trainer: "And so effective? Basically, its because of the round..."

Narrator: The bullet is said to cut through steel at 100 yards.

LOLOL

<yawn>

Shall I bore you yet again with my belief that police achieved parity with criminals in terms of personal weapons a long time ago? ;) I don't see what more we can give them without becoming a police state.

One big question. Why keep them locked up in the trunk? Like they said in the video a BG gets out and instead of running he starts shooting, how is the gun gonna help you while locked up in the trunk?

And did anyone else wish they could go to their property room and drool over all the guns that were in there? Why not arm their officers with some of those sized weapons? assuming of course they are not evidence in a murder.

Humm:scrutiny: This is new news? :confused: I have seen ARs in police cars here in parts of CA for years. (10 +) This isn't really a new thing at all. Heck, even State Park Rangers have ARs now.

Not really news at all. :rolleyes:
