Saw this on WTA, I don't see it here yet, and figured it would be good to spread.

Basics of the story is 10 college students at an apartment for a birthday party. 2 masked gunmen enter, demand valuables, seperate men from women, and then discuss amongst themselves if they brought enough ammo to kill 10 people.

One student grabbed a handgun from backpack, engages the thug who was assigned to guard the men. Thug flees. Student then goes and finds the 2nd thug about to rape one of the women. Student fires, Thug #2 jumps out window but is found dead a short distance away.

One student was injured in the crossfire.

If 10 students on campus were killed by a gunman this would be getting national attention. 1 student saving 10 is not nearly as newsworthy I guess.

Edit to add: Guys, please click on that link. Newspaper sites are judged by how much traffic a story generates. Reading my copy-and-paste version here does NOTHING. Reading it there means the paper is fairly compensated, AND it means that newspaper and other newspapers are more likely to run similar stories. Newspapers and TV stations show news that sells.

Yeah it seems that the mainstream media only reports firearm related news if innocents are killed.

I saw that hours ago on a political forum that leans left. The silence was deafening.

That's great news, sometimes the media will pick it up if the good guy takes a bad guy's gun, you see that's okay, because only bad guys are supposed to have guns because guns are evil.

Notice how media detests reporting anything putting guns in a good light. :fire:

Thank goodness. There was no question in that situation: they were going to kill them.

    Hooo-AHHHH!!!!
now if it was in NY, the kid would have been arrested for at least aggravated assault, the perp would have a Crime Victims advocate assigned and the anti's would be holding rally's to support the perps rights. AND that his livelyhood was being infringed upon. Then the college student would have been sued for breaching the perps civil rights!!
WAY TO GO!!!! Chalk one(on the ground) up for the good guys in this world!!!!

Its a positive outcome for law abiding citzens using a firearm. So it will be quickly covered over by how the criminals where such good people and its all just a misunderstand crap that usually comes when the bad guys get whats coming to them.

The media simply does not like to "advertise" when good samaritans with firearms prevent crime.
Their agenda is much the same as the governments, to disarm the citizens.

    +1 tab.

Specifically hitting a party of collegians? Gotta be lookin for either sex or drugs, because kids in college sure as hell don't got alot of money.

Regardless of the MO, they got what was coming. I'm glad the victims came out alive.

    I love a happy ending.
