Last tim I visit my dad, he gave an old Collins Hatchet that was in a basement cabinet. Probably been there 20 years. It was in a leather protector. It had a broken handle and was pretty rusty. I looked up it’s history, which is long. I then ordered a new hickory handle, removed what was left of the old one, and soaked the head in evaporust. Did a little polish on the buffer wheel and sharpened the edge. Still working on restoring the cover. It a very handy tool.

That hatchet looks awesome! I was given a Norland double but Saddle hatchet from, who at the time was my best friend. When I heard of the Nessumuck craze I looked it up and it would sell for about $100 so I gave it back. I should have kept it as he and his wife turned out to be [censored].

My dad doesn't have much use for it these days so I gave it to me mostly because he knows I like fixing things.
