Colorado Mag Ban

But we sure as heck can stop him from having these 30-round magazines that can shoot a whole classroom full of first graders in just a matter of a couple of minutes

Lucky thing she's so ignorant of how quickly one can change mags, especially if that one is in a gun free environment where it's guaranteed nobody will be shooting back. If she (the ig'nant politician) knew the truth, she'd be going after all mags.

BTW, I always had my heart set on moving to Colorado. In 2003 I came very close to moving to Cortez. Or maybe even Durango.

I guess things work out for the best sometimes.

I relocated from Westminster, CO, to Chandler, AZ, in 2003 and I haven't looked back. The communist sub-state of Boulder was already radically changing the political climate, and from everything I've seen it's only gotten worse. Too bad, it was (many years ago) a great place to raise a family.

RMGo_Org shows a mag ban, AWB ban and campus carry ban, all of which have not been submitted yet.

And a mag ban would be enforceable statewide, the same as it is now in Denver / Aurora, except of course statewide (ie Don't get caught).

Denver and Aurora already have mag bans in place

Yes- The City and County of Denver does have a restriction on 21+ round capacity magazines, not a generic "Assault Weapons" ban. That's why Bass Pro Shop, located on the site of the old Stapleton Airport cargo terminal, only sold 20 round P-Mags, but still sold AR platform rifles.

No- Aurora, not being a "home rule" city, does NOT have enforceable magazine ban. In fact, the Firing Line (large gun shop and indoor range), located less than 1 mile from the infamous Century Theater, sells every full capacity magazine available.

If I am wrong on the above, please provide documentation otherwise.

Thanks!

I hate these dirty hippy leftists. Smoking marijuana is OK, a drug that all polititians call a gateway to harder and more devastating drugs. Firearms and those "high powered clips" are a no-no? My dad and grampa warned me this would happen one day, I just never thought I would see it in my lifetime.

Our country is catching a virus one state at a time. Eventually it will kill all of our rights if it isn't given a big shot of penicillin. Unfortunately this is a very drug resistant strain that has mutated into one hell of a monster. This is depressing:(

I've wondered how such a ban could possibly be enforced without outright confiscation. it isn't like there are checkpoints at the borders to CO.

They can set up checkpoints to make sure you have chains on your tires, so I'm guessing they'll figure out a way. :uhoh:

Masiffhound, This is a freedom issue. Some people want to control drugs and some want to control firearms. Either way, they are trying to take away our freedom.

The name of the Republican Senator from Greeley that is trying to institute a grain of common sense is Renfroe, not Refore. Leave it to the media to screw up something so simple.....

Hey- I was born and raised in Boulder!

The same anti-gun types were here back in '93/'94 (the "Summer of Violence"), but instead of Webb/Schroeder/Romer, we now have Fields/DeGette/Hickenlooper. It seemed like the sky was falling, but we managed to push through, gaining a significant advancement of gun rights in 2003 with the statewide CCW and pre-emption legislation.

Always keep fighting!

The federal ban seems to be moving along slowly, but I am shocked at how fast some states are moving with the hysteria.

I never thought a state out west except for CA would propose a ban on mags. It seems if its not done on a federal level, states are going to do it themselves, thinking they are accomplishing something .

For twenty years we've had Californians moving out here in droves because the people they voted into office there screwed up the place. They, being Californians, are too stupid to realize this and have turned my beloved state blue. I fear the state politicians more than the feds at this point.

I'm disappointed in the way Colorado is moving. My family and I moved here eight years ago and we love this state, but now that the children are grown we're looking at other states like Idaho and Montana.

I just had to move from TX to CA. Its worse than I ever imagined. All of my standard capacity magazines are locked up safely in Texas awaiting my return. Unfortunately, that leaves a bunch of guns useless without magazines for the next few years. I'm even having trouble finding a new gun store to buy new guns that were designed to hold less than 10 rounds so I can have usable, CA legal replacements that don't have hacked up magazines.

And before anyone asks, I am not selling them.

Not yet done!

This is not yet a done deal. The problem in this state, besides the rich ******* billionaires that give so generously to left wing causes, is that those that believe in freedom are not mobilized or organized. Today, Feb 15th, is the reading on the floor of the state house for the magazine ban and the universal registration. If you can be there, show up. Second best thing to do is flood your local rep and senator with calls. Tell them "If you vote for these bills, I promise to donate and vote for your challenger in 2014" Then, call the president of the senate and house speaker and tell them that if these bills pass, you will donate generously to the opponents of every rep that voted for it.(even if you can't afford to, them bluff them). These maps show the districts and phone numbers.
