CO, ND, AR and FL have added Iowa to the list of states they honor. There will be a few more. But with Iowa not signing agreements it will limit how many states honor their permit/license. Some states require Signed agreements. WV, NH, MS and others. But they will pick up a few more. ND just added IA today. The others in the last two to three weeks. Iowa has been one of my biggest surprises. I never thought they would go from May Issue very restricted to Honoring all other states and Shall Issue. That was a huge leap. But it shows what can be done.

My bad. The newsletter I got last week stated that Iowa was recognizing the Alabama CCW but I guess not the other way around.

Gary - Love the website, it's great and has been a big help. Love how you link everything possible to the actual laws / state websites.

Any guess if Kansas will accept Iowa? I looked over their website and it appears they have a "review" process and decide on an individual basis. I couldn't tell what criteria they use or based on other states they accept if they were likely to honor Iowa's at some point. I spend some time there and would love it if they did.

Thanks!

Kansas just looks at the others states laws and if they are equal to or greater than KS law they will honor them. Looking at their page it states what I have pasted below. They are saying that Iowa law does not meet their standards. This was the old carry law and not sure if they will look again just because they are Shall Issue. From all I can see the only thing that changed in Iowa law from the Old law was: They will honor all other states permit/licenses and the state is now Shall Issue. So something in Iowa law may still be stopping KS from honoring an IA permit/license. We will just have to wait and see. I do know that the NRA sent out letters to all the other states telling them about Iowa and their law change so hopefully everyone will take a look at Iowa in the coming months.

The State of Kansas recognizes concealed carry handgun licenses issued by the following states. In
accordance with K.S.A. 75-7c03(c), the standards for licensure in these states are equal to or greater than the standards imposed by the State of Kansas. Persons with concealed carry licenses issued by these states must abide by Kansas concealed carry laws while traveling, visiting or working in the state of Kansas. Kansas statutes and regulations governing Kansas concealed carry are posted on the Attorney General’s website at www.ksag.org. NOTE: Recognition of non-resident licenses does not apply to residents of Kansas. Kansas residents must have a Kansas concealed carry license to lawfully carry a concealed handgun in Kansas.

Gary, any reason why Minnesota hasn't accepted CO. I thought it was simply inaction by our state (CO) but it seems the wheels turned quickly on Iowa reciprocity.

Colorado will honor anyone who honors them. It has to be MN that is the hold up. CO added Iowa as soon as Iowa honored theirs. MN was slow on reciprocity at first. Then had a big surge to 15 states 2 to 3 years ago and hasn't added a state since. Contact them and keep contacting them to find out why.

Thanks, thats good to know about my state. I will contact MN.
